Third 4:3 Thriller Against Shamrock – Victory Is Ours Again!
When FC Swiss Re A-Team and FC Shamrock meet, one scoreline seems almost inevitable: 4:3.
The first encounter in March ended in a spectacular FCSR comeback victory after trailing 0:2 at halftime. In May, Shamrock took revenge with a 4:3 win of their own, despite a spirited second-half fightback from FCSR. On Monday, the two teams completed their 4:3 trilogy and this time, FC Swiss Re came out on top again.
FCSR delivered an excellent first-half performance, playing with intensity, discipline and strong teamwork. The team controlled the game, created good chances and went into the break with a deserved 3:0 lead.
One of the highlights came from Souley. After starting the match in goal and keeping a clean sheet during his 20-minute shift, he moved onto the field and scored with his very first touch. He later added a second goal, while Noah also found the net.
The fourth goal came in spectacular fashion: Marcel curled a corner directly into the net – an Olimpico goal and therefore, of course, without an assist.
As the previous encounters had already shown, Shamrock never gives up easily. The second half became increasingly intense, with Shamrock fighting their way back into the match. Several yellow cards reflected the heated nature of the contest, but both sides continued to play good and competitive football.
This time, however, FC Swiss Re held firm. The team defended the narrow lead, showed character under pressure and secured a well-earned 4:3 victory.
A special thank-you goes to Souley, Antonio, Marcel and Lewis, who all volunteered to take a turn in goal.
Three matches. Three 4:3 scorelines. Two victories for FC Swiss Re. Let’s see what the fourth chapter brings... although a slightly less stressful scoreline would also be welcome.
