A-Team loses first game in new shirts

FCSR A-Team loses against FC Caldestino 1:6

Final Score: 1 – 6

It was a tough outing for the FC Swiss Re A-Team as they faced off against FC Caldestino and fell 1:6 in a game marked by early setbacks, unfortunate absences, and a spirited second-half effort.

A Challenging Start
From the first whistle, it was clear that the A-Team would face an uphill battle. Missing a regular goalkeeper and without two of our key players – Elio and Souley – who, in a stunning twist of fate (and perhaps loyalty), played for the opposing side, we entered the match with a patchwork lineup made up of external guests and newcomers.

First Half Struggles
Caldestino took advantage of our makeshift defense early on, exploiting gaps and netting several well-placed goals. Coordination issues and a lack of familiarity among players hampered the A-Team’s rhythm, leading to a 0:3 scoreline at halftime. Despite the adversity, team spirit remained high.

Improved Second Half
After regrouping during the break, the second half told a different story. The A-Team began to find their footing, playing with more cohesion and creating several promising chances. The effort was rewarded with a well-deserved goal, showing that even under pressure, this team has heart and potential.

A Salute to the Opponents
While the defeat was heavy, we extend our congratulations to FC Caldestino on their first-ever victory – a milestone achievement. Their energy and clinical finishing were undeniable, and they capitalized on the opportunity.

Final Thoughts
Despite the loss, the game offered valuable minutes for new players and reinforced the A-Team’s resilience. We'll take this experience, build on the positives from the second half, and come back stronger. And as for Elio and Souley — we expect a heartfelt explanation at the next training session!

Onwards and upwards. Forza FCSR!
